Dear 菠菜网lol正规平台 Community,

This week we were so happy to welcome our transitional kindergarten through fifth grade students back to our school buildings for the first time in more than a year. This first phase of our reopening was an important milestone for our students and schools. As I visited several campuses, I could see that months of planning and preparation were paying off. Screening processes during arrival went smoothly, protective personal equipment was in place, and it was so uplifting to see the genuine excitement of students, teachers and support staff.

As we celebrate a successful first week back, we remain focused on providing high quality online instruction for the many families who continue to choose that option.

Thanks to our city’s highly successful vaccination program, our local health conditions have continued to improve, and we are entering the less restrictive Orange Tier for Los Angeles County. We’re also aware that although COVID data continue to improve in California, we are seeing some resurgence of the virus in other states, which is a reminder that the pandemic is not over for our nation. We must continue to use caution, wear our masks, wash our hands and follow all of our safety protocols so that as we continue to reopen schools, they can stay open for the long term.

Middle and High Schools

The next phase of our re-opening plan is the return of our secondary teachers after spring break, followed by students. Middle and high school in-person learning remains on schedule for grade 12 on April 19, grades six to eight on April 20, and grades 9 to 11 on April 26. Secondary schools continue to move forward with campus club meetings, sports and many other activities.

Spring Recess

As we head into our spring recess next week, we hope that our students and staff can take some time to recharge for the remaining weeks of the school year. Please know that many of our staff also will be continuing to work and plan during the break, keeping in touch with health officials, monitoring COVID data, making any necessary adjustments to our procedures, and preparing for the continued, safe reopening of our schools. We look forward with great anticipation to seeing more of our students at school in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, stay safe and be well.

Sincerely,

-Jill
