Staying Connected and Informed

Long Beach Unified School District

View in Khmer

The Long Beach Unified School District has recently implemented some additional communication efforts to help keep parents and guardians connected with schools and informed about the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As previously announced, 菠菜网lol正规平台 will offer most of its instruction online through Jan. 28, but schools have begun a careful and gradual process of phasing some students back into school buildings (view 菠菜网lol正规平台’s Oct. 23 notification for details). Health data and guidance from health officials will help to determine the pace at which 菠菜网lol正规平台 is able to return students to school in person. A COVID-19 Dashboard is now available at ngskmc-eis.net, providing data on the COVID cases that the school district is responding to. For now, only about 1,600 of the 菠菜网lol正规平台’s 70,000 students are in school district buildings for preschool and childcare services. The limited number of students who are receiving in-person services are following stringent safety protocols, as are the staff members who work with these students.

Other communication efforts this week include a postcard that parent households will receive from the school district in the coming days as a reminder to keep contact information updated in the ParentVue system so that schools and 菠菜网lol正规平台’s central office can continue to stay in touch and provide families the latest updates. See a sample of the postcard in the video accompanying this update. The postcard includes information on how to access ParentVue or receive support for ParentVue accounts. Remember that schools remain operational in many ways, and school staff are here to help students and families during this difficult time.
