As We Mark a Milestone, a Reminder on Mask Guidance

Long Beach Unified School District

Dear 菠菜网lol正规平台 Families,

This Sunday, March 13, 2022 is a significant day for 菠菜网lol正规平台. It marks exactly two years since the global pandemic forced us to close our schools for what we initially thought would be a few weeks. We now know that those few weeks turned into months as we learned how to combat COVID-19 as best we could. Together we have accomplished so much in the face of difficult challenges, reopening our schools to in-person learning, and gradually working our way toward a greater sense of normalcy. Now, we take another step in a positive direction.

Thanks in large part to your support of our health and safety protocols during the pandemic, community health data has shown an encouraging decline in COVID-19 case rates. As we communicated on Feb. 28, masks will not be required indoors (but will still be strongly recommended) at 菠菜网lol正规平台 schools as of tomorrow, March 12. We ask that everyone respect one another’s choices on this matter.

Prior guidance that may have required masks in certain circumstances no longer applies.

As we reflect on two years of hardship, we acknowledge the significant stress and loss that so many have endured, and we are grateful for the exemplary support that you have shown for our students and school communities.

At this moment, we hope that you will take time to acknowledge an 菠菜网lol正规平台 staff member who helped you or your family through this difficult time. After two years in a pandemic, we know for sure that schools are at the heart of our community.
