Nearly 185 high school students from the Long Beach Unified School District recently attended the Port of Long Beach’s Celebrating Women in Trade luncheon, designed to inspire young women to pursue careers in the trade and logistics industry.

The event brings local students and women professionals together to learn about career options and celebrate the important role women play in the field.

From practicing networking skills to hearing firsthand experiences of what it is like to be a woman in a world traditionally dominated by men, the event allowed students to engage with various industry professionals.

Students had the chance to visit information booths, hear about various careers and connect with women professionals during one-on-one conversations over lunch.

The event also included a panel discussion, moderated by the Port’s Harbor Commissioner Vice President Bonnie Lowenthal and other leaders in the industry.

The annual event is one of many opportunities available for students through 菠菜网lol正规平台’s partnership with the Port. Learn more about the Port’s educational programs at www.polb.com/education.
